For the past five years, Better to Speak has worked to use storytelling to highlight important sociopolitical issues through the lens of Black youth and young adults. Our goal is to continue building a platform for Black youth-centered-and-led storytelling and community outreach.

When we say every dollar counts, we mean it. Whether you give once or every month, $1 or $100 – every contribution supports our mission of building a community media platform led by and created for Black youth and young adults.
To give you a sense of how you help specifically, here’s how funds raised from donations are allocated:

Supports and sustains our day-to-day work and operations.

Helps us continue to publish pieces from our community of contributing writers, who bring engaging, unique and insightful perspectives to the Better to Speak platform.

Covers our month-to-month expenses to ensure our team is paid and has access to the tools we need to continue our work and correspond with community partners and stakeholders.

Absorbs the costs for clients and partners – who are primarily young Black community leaders looking for added capacity for their communications programs – to access our services.
